British Business Bank launches new fund to help South East businesses

Funding for ambitious businesses across the South East is now available through British Business Bank’s South East Investment Fund. The fund is now open to applications, providing £210 million in funding to support smaller businesses throughout the region.

Designed to encourage sustainable economic growth, the fund helps businesses innovate, expand and create new opportunities in local communities across the South East. Support is available to businesses in rural, coastal and urban areas.

Finance options available

The fund offers two forms of commercial finance.

Debt finance:

  • Loans from £25,000 to £2 million
  • Suitable for businesses looking to invest in growth, expansion or development

Equity finance:

  • Investments of up to £5 million
  • Designed for businesses seeking investment to scale and realise their growth potential
  • Supporting access to finance

The South East Investment Fund aims to increase the availability and variety of early-stage finance for smaller businesses in the region. It supports companies that may find it difficult to secure funding through traditional routes, helping to improve access to finance and unlock growth opportunities.

The fund also incorporates environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles, supporting the UK’s transition towards a net zero economy while encouraging responsible business growth.

To get started

Whether you’re looking for a business loan or equity investment, the South East Investment Fund can help ambitious companies access the finance they need to grow, innovate and contribute to the region’s economy.

Funding is provided through specialist fund managers appointed to deliver investment across the South East. Find out more and apply on British Business Bank’s website.
