IoD Surrey and Berkshire Quarterly Directors Business Book Club Dinner

Join the IoD Surrey and Berkshire Branch for an insightful evening with an author, engaging discussion and a delicious dinner.
A black tie book club VIP dinner at the historic Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, hosted by the Surrey & Berkshire Chair, Jarmila Yu, Vice Chair, Kate Davis, and Ambassador for D&I & NED John Kerner.
What better location for one of our combined Surrey & Berkshire branches events, given that RMA Sandhurst is located partially in Surrey and partially in Berkshire!
And, what better time than Friday 20th June to mark the upcoming week long Armed Forces Week celebrations, than with a special black-tie book club dinner at RMA Sandhurst
Armed Forces Week is dedicated to showing support and appreciation for the entire Armed Forces community. ย The Institute of Directors has a long-standing relationship with the Armed Forces. We have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, hold a Gold award from the Defence Employers Recognition Scheme and are proud to count servicemen and women, military veterans and members of the Reserve Forces among our members. Armed Forces Week begins on the 22nd June.
We hold four dinner events a year, designed by directors for directors, and each one has a different business book author in attendance to help you get the most out of the event. Each event will provide an opportunity to make new discoveries and gain new insights to support your director development and your business growth from both the author and from the discussion between peers over the course of the dinner.
The author will share with us their inspiration and motivation in putting pen to paper, what compelled them to undertake their book endeavour, and share key highlights and take-aways from their book(s). This will set the tone for the evening leading us into a dinner discussion on the bookโs topic. Whilst the author will generously share their insights, there will be no formal presentations, as the content and conversation come from the attendees. Whilst itโs not every day you get to meet the author of a book you might have on your bookshelf and wish you could ask them a question or two about it, itโs also a valuable opportunity for the author to hear first-hand from us (we are โthe readerโ they wrote the book for) for our thoughts and perspectives. Please note there is no expectation that you will have read the book before attending the dinner!
Come along and meet other members and enjoy some peer to peer conversation opportunities in the historic Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. ย This quarterly director business dinner also gives you the opportunity to meet the IoD Surrey and Berkshire team of ambassadors, a chance to tap into their knowledge, expertise and networks whilst ensuring you are maximising your membership.
