Simon Griffin is Head of Economy & Growth – Place Delivery at Surrey County Council. He leads work to unlock economic growth through place-based approaches, ensuring that Surrey shapes its economic infrastructure around the countyโs unique characteristics, strengths and needs.
Simon is a senior leader with extensive experience of public service design and delivery in areas such as commissioning, design and transformation, adult social care and education. He specialises in improving systems and ideas, often working with partners to deliver shared ambitions.
Since joining in 2009, Simon has held a wide range of leadership roles with Surrey County Council. This includes managing the councilโs Strategic Commissioning Team, working with partners to design and deliver community hubs, and developing Surreyโs Multiply strategy.ย Before local government, Simon worked in education and welfare-to-work.
